Being a Proud Parent

Last night I had the full experience of being a proud parent. After a decade of sending him to keyboard lessons, encouraging him to participate in music at school and the school youth jazz orchestra, encouraging him to university to study popular music, not panicking too much when he decided to go to Ghana to study the local music, our son has managed to develop a career as a professional musician.  Last night was the icing on the cake as Simon and his friends Luke and Gavin took to the stage for the first time with their long-developed project Sekoya. They played to a packed venue in the bar of the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh to a wildly enthusiastic crowd and delivered a set of self-penned fiendishly complex jazz. It was a triumph. Ann and I were very chuffed to say the least.😁   Sekoya
